Accounting Clerk

Primary Role
Alto Neuroscience is seeking an Accounting Assistant / AP specialist to support its corporate finance and accounting team located in the United States of America. Hands-on experience in standard U.S. accounting practices and methods is essential for the successful execution of the responsibilities of the position that include reconciling accounts and performing a full range of other accounting functions and reporting for the U.S. operation. This position will require interaction with all members of the finance and accounting team.
Duties & Responsibilities

• Payroll Tax Filings: Prepare state payroll tax filings in coordination with our PEO
• 1099s: Generate and issue Form 1099s for vendors
• Accounts Payable Management: Process and enter bills, prepare payments, reconcile accounts payable, and investigate and resolve any related issues
• Expense Report Support: Assist in tracking and managing employee expense reports
• Payment Processing: Ensure accurate and timely recording of wire transfers, ACH payments, and checks
• Set up and manage vendor accounts: Update and maintain the company’s billing system (NetSuite) for new vendor accounts and changes to existing accounts, including product/service updates
• Invoice and Payment Management: Check and submit vendor invoices, maintain and apply customer payments in the portal, and review vendor activity to identify any missing invoices during month-end or period-end close
• General Accounting: Assist with reconciliations, review of AP aging schedules and maintaining SOX controls on those respective areas
• Process Payroll for employees
  

This position requires strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to work effectively within a team environment. The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring the accuracy and efficiency of the company’s financial operations.

SALARY RANGE
$72,500-$87,000
Qualifications

• Must have 2 years of accounts payable or accounting experience including understanding the flow of vendor payments and journal entries and knowledge of processing payroll
• Experience working with a General Ledger system required; NetSuite experience is preferred
• Solid critical thinking and analysis and attention to detail
• Ability to maintain strict confidentiality
• Team player willing to learn new tasks
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills are a must
• Excellent planning and organization skills, ability to handle and prioritize multiple tasks seamlessly, and work in a fast-paced, time sensitive environment
