Our Data Science team collaborates closely with Product & Engineering to tackle the most challenging and impactful problems transforming retail pharmacy with a focus on prescription processing efficiency and dispensing accuracy. Applied Scientists are responsible for the full life cycle model development of ideation, prototyping, testing, deployment, and maintenance. Your expertise in NLP, reinforcement learning, and large language models will be critical in driving innovation and improving the efficiency and accuracy of our supply chain.Accelerate Your Career as YouBe a thought leader in the ML space and continue to identify opportunities to build intelligence and automate prescription processing while maintaining industry leading patient safety standardsDesign, develop, deploy, and maintain statistical and machine learning solutions leveraging NLP, generative AI, and reinforcement learningPush the envelope on our operational efficiency by continually refining and advancing our algorithms and modelsCollaborate closely with product managers, software engineers, data scientists, and pharmacists to deeply understand Alto’s business needs and create impactful ML applicationsCommunicate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.Mentor applied scientists & data scientists and contribute to the development of best practices within the Data Science team.A Bit About YouMinimum Qualifications : Master's degree in a quantitative field, such as Mathematics, Computer Science, Accounting, Engineering, or Economics.Seven years or more of experience as an Applied Scientist, Data Scientist, Machine Learning Engineer, or similar role.Demonstrated experience developing machine learning models with business impact, and shipping ML / AI solutions to production.Demonstrated experience with NLP, LLMs, Generative AI, and / or Reinforcement Learning.Strong programming background in Python, high level of proficiency in SQL and Machine Learning (scikit-learn, XGBoost, Keras / Tensorflow) tools.Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to inform and influence a non-technical audience using insights found through complex technical concepts.Strong analytical and critical thinking skills with a strong bias toward actionable insights; love finding insights and getting others to act on them.Expertise using project management fundamentals and applying data-based prioritization and trade-off decision makingPreferred Qualifications :  PhD in a quantitative field, such as Mathematics, Computer Science, Accounting, Engineering, or EconomicsExperience in healthcare or pharmaceutical industryExperience with supply chain optimization, marketplaces, or logistics.Proficiency in using cloud platforms such as AWS, Google Cloud, or Azure leveraging toolkits such as KubeflowAdditional Physical Job RequirementsReading English, comprehending, and following simple oral and written instructions. The worker is required to have close visual acuity to perform an activity such as : preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing; viewing a computer terminal; extensive reading.  Assessing the accuracy, neatness and thoroughness of the work assigned.Expressing or exchanging ideas by means of the spoken word; those activities where detailed or important spoken instructions must be conveyed to other workers accurately, loudly, or quickly. Perceiving the nature of sounds at normal speaking levels with or without correction, and having the ability to receive detailed information through oral communication, and making fine discriminations in sound. Frequent repeating motions required to operate a computer or phone that may include the wrists, hands and / or fingers.Environmental Conditions : occasional exposure to low temperatures or high temperatures, outdoor elements such as precipitation and wind, and noisy environments.Physical Activities :  Occasionally ascending or descending stairs, ramps and the like.Moving about to accomplish tasks and / or moving from one worksite to another. Adjusting or moving objects up to 20 pounds in all directions. Operating motor vehicles.Occasional sedentary work that primarily involves sitting / standing / driving / flyingSalary and BenefitsSalary Range : $220,000 - $250,000Commission Eligible : NoEquity Eligible : YesTravel : Yes - Required up to 10% of the timeEmployment Requirement : Applicants must be authorized to work for any employer in the U.S.  At this time, Alto is unable to sponsor or take over sponsorship of an employment Visa.Location Requirement : Employment at Alto is limited to individuals residing in the following states : California, Arizona, Colorado, Arkansas, Nevada, Florida, New York, Kansas, Texas, Maryland, Washington (WA), Missouri, New Jersey, North Carolina, Oregon, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Tennessee, WisconsinBenefits : Full-time : Medical, Dental, Vision, 401(k), Group Life, AD&D, Employer paid STD / LTD, generous PTO and parental leave.#LI- remoteThis job is fully remoteAdditional InformationAlto Pharmacy is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
