Position Overview: The Nurse Practitioner (NP) will work closely with our team of rheumatologists to provide high-quality care to patients with musculoskeletal and autoimmune diseases. The NP will assess, diagnose, treat, and educate patients regarding their conditions under the supervision and collaboration of licensed rheumatologists.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform comprehensive evaluations of patients, including medical history, physical examination, and review of diagnostic tests.
- Assist in diagnosing and treating rheumatological conditions such as rheumatoid arthritis, lupus, osteoarthritis, psoriatic arthritis, and other autoimmune or inflammatory diseases.
- Develop and implement patient management plans, including ordering tests, prescribing medications, and recommending physical therapy.
- Provide education on disease management, medication adherence, and lifestyle adjustments.
- Accurately document patient encounters, procedures, and follow-ups in the electronic health record (EHR).
- Coordinate with the nursing staff, lab technicians, and other healthcare providers for timely diagnostics and treatment administration.
- Provide patients with the tools and knowledge to manage chronic conditions, including educating medication side effects, symptom tracking, and flare-up management.
Qualifications:
- Certified Registered Nurse Practitioner (CRNP) License in PA.
- Previous experience in a healthcare setting, preferably in rheumatology or internal medicine-related fields.
- Proficiency in the use of electronic health records (EHR).
Skills & Abilities:
- Strong clinical assessment, diagnostic, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to communicate effectively with patients and multidisciplinary healthcare teams.
- Knowledge of pharmacology and therapeutics related to rheumatologic conditions.
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
