Job Description
Altos Federal Group is actively seeking a talented and licensed Psychiatrist to fulfil our RSC/CSOSA contract. This person shall provide direct psychiatric care and oversight of the mental health services and staff. The Psychiatrist shall also write prescriptions, coordinate external medical services, and provide written medical summaries for use by other RSC staff. The Psychiatrist may also be required to provide guidance and technical assistance to ensure that RSC's medical services are performed in accordance with national, state, and local regulations and best practices. This role will begin in-person but will migrate to a fully remote role, candidate should have access to high speed internet and a quiet and private space to conduct these meetings.
Physician Qualifications
- Certification from the American Society of Addiction Medicine or a min of 2 years of experience treating individuals with substance abuse problems.
- A doctor of Medicine or a Doctor of Osteopathy degree with specialization in diagnosis and treatment of mental disorders from an allopathic or osteopathic medical school in the US or Canada approved by a recognized accrediting body.
- A current, full, and unrestricted license to provide medical services in a State, District of Columbia, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, or a territory of the United States
- A minimum of three years of verifiable experience as a licensed psychiatrist
- Experience as a licensed psychiatrist working in either a residential treatment, community corrections, re-entry or correctional facility, public health clinic, or federally-qualified health center, is preferred
or
- A minimum of three years of experience treating individuals with substance abuse problems, is preferred.
Psychiatrist Scope of Responsibility
Shall conduct psychiatric evaluations for RSC residents that will aid in the improvement of the management of RSC offenders/Defendants. They will make psychiatric diagnoses based upon the outcome of the evaluations. They prepare progress notes, summary reports and recommendations for each resident evaluated. They will also provide medication management services for RSC residents with confirmed psychiatric disorder.

- Must have a valid driver's license
- A valid and good standing professional license
- Be willing and able to pass a background check
