What are the responsibilities and job description for the Undergraduate Intern - Finance position at Altria?
As a Finance/Accounting Intern you’ll have the chance to help Altria shape the future and deliver winning results in an exciting and dynamic time. During our 10-week, paid summer program, you’ll experience on-the-job training, access to mentors, planned social events with other Altria interns, educational opportunities and see all that Richmond has to offer. You’ll be challenged and empowered to:
- Own day-to-day responsibilities within your respective department. This may include performing assessments, analyses, compilations and closing procedures, identifying issues and proposing solutions with real-world impact.
- Work on collaborative projects with fellow interns to enhance shareholder value creation.
- Interns are valued team members and are expected to innovate with courage, while championing diversity and inclusion.
Areas you will be immersed in may include: Corporate Audit, Tax, Accounting & Reporting, Financial Planning & Analysis, Treasury and Corporate Planning.

To qualify for the summer intern program, student applicants must be:
- Currently enrolled in an undergraduate/graduate degree program (Accounting or Finance preferred) with a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0
- Individuals who have strong communication, strategic, analytical and creative thinking skills while also showing an ability to work well with others and demonstrate leadership initiative

Candidates must pass a drug-screen and background check prior to employment. Housing assistance is available for eligible interns.
