The Guest Services Representative greets patients and guests who arrive at the facility in a timely, courteous and helpful manner. The representative ensures that all visitors are screened to ensure a safe and healthy environment for our patients and staff. This position acts as a liaison between patients, families and staff by greeting and checking in family members. The representative notifies families and updates to help keep the family informed and assisting physicians and staff in locating families for updates and securing support services as needed. This position provides concierge services to patients and families directing and/or escorting them to their destination.Essential Job Functions:
Positively greets and accurately communicates information to all patients and guests arriving at Altru Health System. Initiates and implements all aspects of service excellence utilizing good judgment in providing companionship/escort services deemed appropriate while ensuring all patient/guest needs are met.
Proactively offers assistance and suggestions for service needs within Altru Health System (i.e. cafeteria, restrooms, telephone, etc.) and concierge services outside of Altru Health System (i.e. convenient restaurants, hotels, shopping locations, and community attractions.)
Coordinates closely with Greeters and other services areas within Altru Health System to maximize the ability to provide patient/guest assistance and services; works collaboratively with volunteers.
Coordinates patient transfers between Altru campuses for appointments and/or admission by arranging appropriate transportation.
Utilizes computer systems to look up information to direct the patients, family members and visitors appropriately (i.e. scheduled appointments, physician location, patient rooms, etc.)
Assists patients/guests with wheelchairs and crutches, transports wheelchair patients/guests to their desired destination within the facility.
Acts as a liaison between patients, families and staff by greeting and checking in family members associated with procedures. Notifies families with updates and securing support services as needed.
Screens visitors and patients upon entry. Monitors visitor admittance to facilities to ensure a safe and healthy environment for our patients and staff.
Performs other duties as assigned or needed to meet the needs of the department/organization.
