Summary:
Hybrid Full-time, Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM. Must reside within a commutable distance to Altru.The Lead Patient Financial Services plays a key role in overseeing and supporting Patient Account Representatives and Revenue Cycle Assistants. This position is responsible for coordinating efforts to resolve complex accounts while ensuring patient interactions during billing and follow-up are handled with consistency and compassion. Additionally, the Lead monitors self-pay and third-party collection activities for the hospital and its affiliates, serving as a primary resource for staff and providing guidance on day-to-day operations.
Essential Job Functions:
- Leads the onboarding and training of new Patient Account Representatives and Revenue Cycle Assistants, ensuring consistency in workflows, policies, and best practices.
- Serves as the primary resource for monitoring, reviewing, and managing self-pay balances across multiple Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems owned and operated by Altru and its affiliates. Ensures accurate and timely follow-up on outstanding balances.
- Acts as the main point of contact for workflow-related inquiries, troubleshooting issues, and providing guidance to ensure efficiency and accuracy in revenue cycle operations.
- Develops, implements, and maintains standardized processes for various revenue cycle functions, promoting consistency, compliance, and best practices across all areas of work.
- Assists in revenue cycle operations, stepping into various roles as needed to maintain workload balance, accuracy, and efficiency. Collaborates with team members to meet department goals and service expectations.
- Possesses a high-level understanding of federal and state regulations, payer requirements, and third-party financial assistance programs. Ensures all revenue cycle activities align with compliance standards and reimbursement guidelines.
- Works closely with department leadership to develop, refine, and implement policies and procedures that optimize reimbursement while ensuring compliance with all regulatory and payer guidelines.
- Performs other duties as assigned or needed to meet the needs of the department/organization.
