The School to Career position can be a position in any of the following: Central Sterile, IT Service Center Support, Nurse Aide/HUC, Inpatient Therapy Aide, Outpatient Therapy Aide, Nurse Aide, and Ambulance Department. The School to Career position may involve 1 or more of the essential job functions below depending on the position.Essential Job Functions:
IT Service Center: Assists the IT Service Center staff in a variety of PC and PC peripheral deployment, maintenance, and troubleshooting. Demonstrates knowledge of configuring PCs, problem-solving of Operating System and hardware issues, and proper cable management. Completes assigned tasks with a focus on quality, safety, and customer service.
HUC/Nurse Assistant: Functions as the nursing unit receptionist and customer service associate to patients, families, customers, and staff. Completes physician order processing and facilitates physician order communication to nursing staff and ancillary departments. Obtains, maintains and completes all required reports and performs chart initiation, chart maintenance, and chart assembly.
Nurse Assistant: Assists with personal care/comforts. Demonstrates knowledge of location and use of basic and special equipment, i.e., dine maps, wheelchairs, IV poles/pumps, etc. Performs equipment cleaning, monitoring and set-up. Maintains unit organization by stocking supply areas. Ensures that all client requests are being appropriately and adequately addressed in a timely fashion.
Therapy Support Associate: Assists with activities of daily living (ADL) training in accordance with Standards of Care. Demonstrates knowledge of location and use of basic and special equipment, i.e., walkers, wheelchairs, crutches, O2 – portable and wall, and etc. Performs equipment cleaning, adjusting, and set-up. Assists with proper transferring, weight-bearing, and self-care techniques and precautions correlating to surgical procedures and co-existing diagnosis. Assists with gait, reinforcing proper patterns and sequencing.
Ambulance Department: Assists the EMS staff with checking and cleaning ambulances. Assist EMS with restocking, cleaning, and remaking cots after ambulance calls. Assist with rooming patients from triage in the Emergency Department. Assist with code entry from ambulance calls and department statistics. Assist with various patient care needs in the Emergency Department. Observe patient care.
Respiratory Therapy Care Tech: Clean and assemble Respiratory Care equipment according to standard operating procedures. Maintain equipment by properly tagging and notifying biomed. Demonstrates knowledge and location of the basic Respiratory Care Equipment and assists with the distribution and overall inventory of Respiratory equipment and supplies. Monitors the distribution of Respiratory Equipment throughout the hospital. Will also assist in maintaining the proper distribution of oxygen tanks, regulators and carts throughout the hospital.
Radiology Support Associate: Assists staff in x-ray, CT, and Nuclear Medicine. Patient intake including preliminary questionnaire and dressing. Preparing scan tables and positioning patients. Cleaning rooms and equipment. Stocking supplies and linens. Transporting patients. Attending to patients during exams.
Reports any changes observed in condition or behavior to Supervisor.
Performs other duties as assigned or needed to meet the needs of the department/organization.
Certification:

Notes:
Must be at least 16 years old by June 1, 2023 and entering junior or senior year in high school.
Must obtain Nursing Aide or Certified Nursing Assistant license within 4 months of start date if working as a HUC or Nursing Assistant.
