Responsibilities:
- Provide direct nursing care in accordance with established policies, procedures, and protocols of the organization.
- Maintain knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients served on the assigned unit.
- Facilitate the coordination of patient care within the interdisciplinary care team and provide patient education to assure safe patient discharge.
- Perform daily rounds on all patients, assuring quality customer service by coordinating and taking action on any requirements not met.
- Develop a plan of care based on assessment that reflects the patient's physical, psychological, social, educational, developmental, and rehabilitative needs.
- Assess the patient's condition and nursing needs, set goals, and prescribe appropriate nursing actions to meet those goals and the physical, psychological, social, and rehabilitative needs of the patient.
- Identify early warning signs of a change in a patient's condition and respond appropriately, including contacting responsible clinicians as indicated by standard operating procedure.
- Report pertinent observations and reactions regarding patients to the appropriate multidisciplinary team member and record those observations accurately and concisely.
- Establish and maintain communication and utilize educational opportunities with patients and other significant individuals.
- Begin discharge planning, education, and counseling based on identified needs to optimize patient/family understanding.
- Assign or delegate responsibility for performance of nursing interventions to other persons for which that person has the necessary skills and competence to accomplish safely.
Certification:
- Registered Nurse | North Dakota Board of Nursing (NDBON) or Compact State Agreement | Prior to start date | HR Primary Sources

Notes:
- Temporary RN license accepted prior to start.
- ND RN Graduate Work Authorization considered prior to start. The RN Graduate Work Authorization is valid for up to 90 days after issue or upon notification of the NCLEX results, whichever occurs first.
- Must hold an unencumbered nursing license prior to start.
