Responsibilities:
- Provide direct nursing care in accordance with established policies, procedures and protocols of the organization
- Maintain knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients served on the assigned unit
- Facilitate coordination of patient care within the interdisciplinary care team
- Provide patient education to ensure safe patient discharge
Essential Job Functions:
- Perform daily rounds on all patients, ensuring quality customer service by coordinating and taking action on any requirements not met
- Develop a plan of care based on assessment that reflects the patient's physical, psychological, social, educational, developmental and rehabilitative needs
- Assess the patient's condition and nursing needs, set goals, and prescribe appropriate nursing actions to meet those goals
- Identify early warning signs of change in patient condition and respond appropriately
- Report pertinent observations and reactions regarding patients to the appropriate multidisciplinary team member and record accurately
Certifications:
- Registered Nurse | North Dakota Board of Nursing (NDBON) or Compact State Agreement | Prior to Start Date
- Basic Life Support (BLS) | American Heart Association (AHA)| Within 90 days of Start Date
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) | Within 6 Month of Start Date
- Essentials of Critical Care Orientation (ECCO) | American Association of Critical-Care Nurses | Preferred
Requirements:
- Temporary RN license accepted prior to start
- ND RN Graduate Work Authorization considered prior to start
- Unencumbered nursing license required prior to start
