License : Medical Imaging License required prior to start
Certifications : Radiographer - American Registry of Radiologic Technologist (ARRT), Basic Life Support (BLS) - American Heart Association (AHA)
Must-Have : Understanding of Computer Radiology (CR) and Digital Radiography (DR) principles
Job Description :
- Educate patients on the radiology procedure and ensure they feel comfortable and safe.
- Perform all radiographic procedures while monitoring the patient.
- Demonstrate understanding of Computer Radiology (CR) and Digital Radiography (DR) principles.
- Select proper technical factors and operate equipment to produce quality radiographs.
- Utilize all radiation safety devices.
- Review images for quality and completeness according to standard operating procedures and provider preference.
- Proper labeling and collimation of images.
- Prepare and administer IV and oral contrast under the direction of a Radiologist or Radiologist Assistant.
- Provide individualized patient care and comfort essential to the procedure.
- Educate patients and families to optimize understanding within scope of responsibility.
- Monitor patients for comfort and safety.
- Ensure prior images are available and complete all necessary processes.
- Perform pain assessments and take appropriate action according to standard operating procedures.
- Perform other duties as assigned or needed to meet department or organization needs.
- Temporary licenses accepted prior to start.
- Holiday coverage not required.
