JOB SUMMARY
The Credentialing Specialist provides administrative assistance and verifies licenses and credentials in the healthcare industry. Their duties include keeping detailed records of medical staff members, maintaining databases, and ensuring staff members possess legal licenses and credentials to work in their chosen fields.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE JOB
- Create and maintain licensing, credentials, and insurance records
- Conduct research on updated state and federal regulations and policies
- Release information to requesting agencies and public inquiries when required by law
- Help develop internal credentialing processes
- Monitor license and credential expiration dates and advise staff members of required “renew by” dates
- Ensure the facility and staff members are maintaining compliance with regulatory and accrediting institutions

EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent required.
· 5-10 Years Experience as a Credentialing Specialist.
· CPCS Certification is preferred
