The opportunity
Altruist is in the midst of an exceptional growth phase and we're excited to hire a hands-on Engineering Manager to lead our Market Data team, which is responsible for building and maintaining low-latency, high-throughput market data systems. This team ensures that Altruist delivers real-time and security master market data to support trading, analytics, and reporting.
As an Engineering Manager, you will lead and grow a team of skilled backend engineers while remaining technically involved in system architecture, design, and development. You will collaborate closely with Product, Trading, and Infrastructure teams to ensure our market data platform is resilient, scalable, and accurate.
Your impact
- Lead & Manage : Oversee and mentor a team of backend engineers, fostering a culture of ownership, collaboration, and continuous improvement
- Hands-on Development : Contribute to system design and coding, ensuring best practices in software engineering and high-quality delivery
- Build & Optimize Market Data Systems : Design and enhance low-latency market data pipelines, tick data, and real-time streaming APIs
- Ensure Reliability & Performance : Drive improvements in monitoring, alerting, and failover mechanisms for market data services
- Collaborate Across Teams : Work closely with Trading, Product, and Infrastructure teams to integrate and optimize market data usage
- Hire & Retain Talent : Recruit top engineering talent and create an environment where engineers can do their best work
What you bring
7 years of backend engineering experience with a strong focus on distributed systems and real-time data processing
