Teacher Job Requirements
International Baccalaureate & Collaboration
- Four-day school week for students, and teacher collaboration and planning on Fridays
- Teaches and educates students according to guidelines provided by the International
Baccalaureate (IB) and the Idaho State Common Core
- Researches and understands the International Baccalaureate philosophy and curriculum at high levels
- Creates a strong classroom community using the International Baccalaureate Profile
- Plans, prepares and delivers lessons at instructional levels, mainly in small group instruction
- Collaborates with colleagues and writes high level unit planners
- Plans and prepares project-based units
- Builds strong relationships in the community and creates connections for the benefit of the school and community
Classroom Environment & Communication
- Students are taught at instructional levels, therefore classes are multi-age
- Promotes the academic and social progress and well-being of individual students, groups of students and the community of the classroom
- Maintains strong classroom and school discipline among students
- Analyzes data, assesses, records and reports on the development, progress, academic achievement and behavior of students
- Provides continual feedback to parents on their child’s progress and needs
- Communicates, consults and cooperates with other members of the school staff and parents to ensure the best interests of all students are met
- Maintains a well-organized, clutter free, clean and orderly classroom
Academic Practices
- Utilizes data following a careful review and effectively administers interventions
- Advises and collaborates with the leadership team and other teachers in the preparation and development of the curriculum, teaching materials and methods of teaching and assessments
- Review, reflect and evaluates one’s own teaching and learning strategies and methodologies
Job Requirements
Valid Idaho Teaching Certificate with required endorsements or equivalent; or Idaho Department of Education Certification or the ability to obtain one via alternative route.
