To provide necessary support for the Company’s Quality objectives. The Quality Technician acts in support of Manufacturing and other departments’ personnel to by providing guidance on quality standards.
Requirements
Education and Experience:
· High school diploma or equivalent required
Skills, Knowledge and Competencies:
· Ability to deal with multiple levels of people effectively, in group and individual settings
· Basic computer literacy
· Basic math and business writing skills
· Ability to learn new programs, activities and tasks
· Strong organizational, planning and documentation skills
· Know how to talk to supervisors, set-up operators, machine programmers, and operators when you have problems with the part at hand.
· Know how to read CMM reports, when in or out of specs
· Must possess basic blueprint reading and GD&T knowledge.
· Ability to use gauges and other typical measurement equipment
· Ability to perform quality audits (both LPAs and Internal IATF audits)
Duties and Responsibilities:
· Inspects parts with dimensional results.
· Writes and issues Quality Alerts as needed.
· Writes and issues Increased Inspection documents as needed.
· Inspects supplied components with dimensional results.
· Supports Quality Engineers in creation of PPAP documentation.
· Perform capability studies as needed.
· Facilitate measurement system analysis.
· Performs special assignments as delegated.
· Help with set-up of new jobs.
· Helping set-up and machine programmer with part movements and locations for a new job or if the machine has crashed.
Physical Requirements/Working Conditions:
· Works in a seasonally fast paced environment under minimum supervision.
· Routine responsibilities and duties involve the use of various procedures and the application of clearly prescribed standards of practice, requiring the use of good judgment.
· Must work with a high degree of accuracy.
· The job works in conditions with constant exposure (67% or more) to noise, odors, dust, drafts, chemicals, operating machinery, temperature extremes, hazardous substances, etc.
· Confined sitting
· Walking
· Repetitive lifting of objects (under 5 lbs., over 5 lbs.)
· Repetitive manual movements (e.g., keyboarding)
· Carrying pushing or pulling objects (under 5 lbs., over 5 lbs.)
· Crouching, climbing
· Sustained visual concentration on small areas, such as monitors, screens or numbers
· Precise eye/hand coordination
