Position Summary:
This position is responsible to assist the Continuous Improvement Manager in identifying and improving the outcomes of manufacturing and operational processes to improve efficiencies, reduce cost and increase customer satisfaction. The ideal candidate is an individual that displays a hands-on mindset, understands the importance of being on the plant floor, and is a motivated person that will help drive changes and improvements in the plant. These changes and improvements include (but are not limited to) increasing overall production output by:
- Creating a safe work environment
- Improving the quality and reliability of the products we produce
- Improving overall equipment utilization
- Improving Work Force efficiency
- Monitoring and assisting in environmental policies
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Monitor plantwide outputs, OEE – efficiency, utilizations and quality, of work centers to ensure that key operation initiatives and goals are being attained.
- Promote a performance mindset at all levels through Lean events, standardization and modeling waste identification and elimination
- Track the progress of projects implemented by the CI team.
- Help create processes that reduce scrap and downtime.
- Engages with the Production Supervisors and Team Leads on each shift to communicate and monitor performance and projects to drive a continuous improvement environment.
- Maintain the communication link between management and operations employees (Supervisors and Team Leads); provide consistent and fair application of performance standards.
- Provide information exchange with other shifts and departments to aid in achieving plant production and quality goals.
- Assists in development of team members for promotional opportunities.
- Drive continuous improvement culture to help meet monthly KPI targets.
- Responsible for interacting with all direct and indirect labor on each shift.
- Monitor employee safety, quality, and performance of hourly and shift goals when needed.
- Coach and mentor employees, helping to develop a cross-trained workforce with clear objectives and goals.

Education and Experience:
- Highschool Diploma or GED Required.
- Additional Education/Experience considered a plus:
- Associates Degree in a Technical Field
- 1-2 years of related experience and/or training
- Equivalent combination of education and experience is acceptable.
- LEAN Manufacturing Certification or training
- Shibumi / MiniTab Software experience
- Plex / Ignition application experience
- Experience with Implementation of LEAN Philosophies and Methods including:
- Six Sigma
- Problem Solving Training or related experience.
