The Quality manager is responsible for the development, implementation, maintenance, and improvement of the Quality System to ensure that the products manufactured, and services provided, meet customer requirements.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Ensure Quality System aligns with corporate Quality System and complies with the Shiloh Production System Foundation requirements as well as the ISO/TS16949 standard and other applicable automotive quality standards and applicable customer specific requirements. Lead by example in the practice of safe behaviors.
- Ensure Quality team members abide by company EHS policies/procedures and promote the EHS (Environmental Health and Safety) discipline throughout the organization.
- Work with Engineering and Program Management on advance quality planning of future programs and ensure that customer and supplier requirements are met through the customer approval process (PPAP) and that all special characteristics identified during product development are monitored using statistical techniques throughout the manufacturing process. Manage the internal audit schedule for TS- 16949.
- Administer all Quality activities as defined in the TS-16949 standards.
- Ensure that the plant successfully implements applicable World Class Quality Systems, and are certified / compliant with VDA 6.1, ISO/TS16949, etc. as appropriate.
- Manage and provide oversight for the supplier base for both purchased components and raw material.
- Drive continuous improvement post S.O.P. Supplier Development and Quality performance, including leading the corrective action processes for Supplier issues.
- Lead problem solving and assist as needed to drive problem resolution and sustainable improvements.
- Own process for control of non-conforming material through material reviews, timely disposition of suspect product, and follow up to drive corrective actions.
- Own plant PPAP process and improve 1st time approval rate.
- Participate in Advance Quality Planning.
- Ensure achievement of gage qualification, calibration, approval and control.
- Lead audits – customer, 3rd party, and internal – through scheduling, task assignments, preparation and required corrective actions.
- Act as a liaison with customers on quality or other customer satisfaction related issues.
- Ensure quality control points are effective, including incoming inspection, first piece and in-process inspection, final inspection, and dock audit.
- Report on the performance/ effectiveness of the quality system for review and as a basis for continual improvement of the quality system.
- Plan, promote, and organize training activities related to product quality.
- Support efforts to minimize product and process variability. Supervise Quality team members.
- Apply knowledge of ISO/TS16949 IATF standard, APQP, PPAP, MSA, SPC, Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) and Minitab software.
- Other related duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Master’s degree in Industrial Engineering,
- 24 months experience, Same or Quality Engineer, and
- 24 months of experience in conducting internal quality audits in compliance with ISO 9001 and IATF 1649 standards, participating in 3rd party audits (including the provision of documentation/evidence), the use/application of APQP, PPAP and 8D methodology standard, and Minitab software (experience may be concurrent).
