The Materials Manager is responsible to manage and oversee the production and raw material scheduling, inventory control, customer service, indirect purchasing, and the logistics functions within the plant. The manager is expected to lead all areas of the material flow process on the plant floor from both a physical flow perspective and a systems perspective.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities Include:
- Provide the necessary leadership in all levels of customer contact including inventory, EDI, Customer Service and delivery issues.
- Lead, with the support the central purchasing function, activity related to procurement of raw material and components
- Ensure all cycle count are completed per the ABC schedule. Lead and coordinate all aspects of the annual physical inventory
- Identify improvement initiatives and barriers, establish priorities, evaluate practices and develop related plans to ensure successful production control operations
- Monitor daily production to ensure that all customer requirements are met. Lead daily escalation and or expediting priorities as needed
- Create a culture of continuous improvement by problem solving and driving importance of using systems and process in all material planning and production planning functions
- Provide effective leadership, communication, and development of direct reports while encompassing the Aludyne core values.
- Promote safety first and a zero-tolerance culture to address behavior as well as work conditions to achieve an Injury-free workplace. Ensure employees are trained to safely and properly perform their duties
- Lead achievement of OE customer delivery performance of 100%. Achieve service delivery rates of 98%. As well as support and drive successful launch of new programs
- Ensure employees follow standard work procedures
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Production/Materials Management, Supply Chain or related field is strongly recommended
- At least five (5) years in a role(s) performing responsibilities same as/similar to those described above
- May consider candidates with eight (8) years of directly relevant work experience, in lieu of the required degree.
- At least five (5) years of experience at the supervisory/management level where responsibilities included full scope of leadership (e.g. hiring decisions, on-the-job training, coaching and developing employees, performance management, etc.).
