Description
The Maintenance Team Lead will be responsible for the standard maintenance procedures, safety, and continuous improvement initiatives within the department while overseeing the maintenance and repair of company equipment and machinery. This position is also responsible for planning and ordering the tools/parts/supplies necessary to ensure our assets are maintained to the highest standards.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Ensure correct and safe operation of facility and equipment
- Involved in project planning and necessary vendor coordination for equipment installations, property improvements, etc.
- Prioritizes work orders and assists with technical troubleshooting / repair of mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic and electrical/electronic equipment
- Ensures PM schedule is followed properly and train when necessary
- Sources parts for all planned Preventative Maintenance and Emergency Repair activities
- Advises operators and maintenance personnel of operation procedures and requirements for working safely with complex electrical and mechanical systems
- Informs appropriate management and employees of potential electrical/mechanical problems and inherent dangers involved
- Carry out incident, accident and non-conformity investigations
- Consistently promote high standards through personal example and roll out through the team so that each member of the team understands the standards and behaviors expected of them
Qualifications
Required
- Minimum of 3 years industrial maintenance or heavy equipment experience
- Strong maintenance ability and aptitude to apply mechanical and electrical/electronic principles in various troubleshooting and repair activities
- Display leadership ability, able to influence others to perform their jobs effectively and to be responsible for making decisions
- Demonstrate autonomy - ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Able to perform multiple tasks and prioritize duties as required
- Capable of operating hand, power, and specialized tools
- Able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
Preferred
- 5-7 years of proven industrial maintenance experience, specifically in mechanical and electrical/electronics
- 3 years of previous supervisory experience or demonstrated team leadership capabilities
- Certificates or diplomas from an accredited college or skill center in machining or machine tool manufacturing
- Technical degree or accredited apprenticeship program or the equivalent in a technical field
- Experience in fabrication, machine shop equipment, mechanical drawings, electrical schematics, PLC programming and troubleshooting, power utilization and general facility maintenance
