Summary
The Operations Coordinator will jointly monitor and manage all facility day-to-day operations in a team with two other supervisors; focusing on Production, Receiving/Shipping and Maintenance Departments while creating depth for multiple key roles within a compact organizational structure. Designated personnel must cross-train and substitute as Production Coordinator, Logistics Coordinator (Shipping/Receiving) and other cross-functional roles required to maintain effective facility operations. An Operations Coordinator will also monitor, assist, perform or manage many discrete plant functions to varying degrees; additional areas of responsibility may include but are not limited to: QC (Quality Control) and Defective Material, Buying, Scheduling, Inventory Review, HSE (Health, Safety & Environmental), Housekeeping, etc.

REPORTS TO: General Manager
SCHEDULE: 7:30am to 4pm, M-F
Responsibilities
- Support Production, Receiving/Shipping Departments & Maintenance Activities
- Cross-Train in key plant positions – i.e. Production Coordinator Logistics Coordinator (Shipping/Receiving)
- Perform day-to-day tasks as required to meet customer demand; up-to and including operating production and/or material handling equipment
- Monitor, perform and support facility maintenance activities utilizing contracted services as required (i.e. inspections, preventative actions, repairs, documentation, etc.); Areas of focus include manufacturing equipment (cut-to-length lines, conveyors, compressors, shears, presses, pumps, packaging equipment, etc.) facilities, grounds, utilities, etc. as required
- Execute all tasks prioritizing maximum 1.Safety, 2.Quality and 3.Output
- Operate in complete compliance with all ALPCO rules, regulations, policies and procedures
- Audit facility for safety and housekeeping regularly
- Monitor, support and/or perform Accident/Incident Investigations as required
- Additional job related duties/assignments/projects/etc. as identified and assigned
REQUIRED, EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, CERTIFICATION, LICENSES & REGISTRATION:
- High School Diploma or GED required (some relevant secondary education preferred)
- Supplementary technical, trade or vocational coursework and/or certificates preferred but not required
- Minimum 7-10 years’ experience in Manufacturing/Operations
- Experience with ERP/MRP Systems required
- Experience with manufacturing and facilities maintenance required
- Experience in metals industry and fabrication preferred
- Fork-Truck, scissor/man/basket lift experience required
- Experience utilizing basic maintenance tools/equipment (i.e. drill presses, grinders, saws, metal working, welders, etc.)
- Acquire and maintain ALPCO Fork Truck Operator’s License

- Ability and willingness to cross-train into any/all/other areas of plant operations
- Ability and willingness to personally operate manufacturing equipment and process work orders during labor shortages
- Ability and willingness to manage and perform basic/fundamental maintenance functions and inspections (i.e. equipment/work-center inspections, preventative maintenance activities, minor repairs, etc.)

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
- Lift and move up to 75 pounds with or without reasonable accommodation

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

- Tolerate exposure to grease, oils, miscellaneous lubricants and maintenance fluids commonly used to maintain manufacturing equipment and facilities
- PPE requirements including but not limited to: safety glasses, miscellaneous glove types, arm guards/sleeves, earplugs, safety toe shoes/boots, hardhat, face-shield, welding/cutting hood, etc. All is provided with the exception of safety toe shoes.
