Overview
Supervises and coordinates activities of workers engaged in manufacturing. Plans and designs methods to improve efficiency in production. Optimizes production, improves material flow within the department. Achieves production objectives with regards to personnel, material, capacity, equipment efficiency and scrap rate. Implements 5S program in production departments.
Duties
- Preparation of operation schedules in cooperation with planning and logistics and coordination of manufacturing activities to ensure production, delivery and quality meets specifications.
- Optimization of production through improved material flow, efficient utilization of available capacity and personal and reduction of scrap.
- Responsible for achievement of company goals with regards to First Time Quality, Internal Delivery, Productivity, Overall Equipment Effectiveness, Housekeeping, Headcount, Scrap and Overtime. This includes tracking, monitoring charts and assessing, developing and following through with necessary action plans.
- Optimization of quality controls within production department.
- Responsible for 5S system in the manufacturing area.
- Assures compliance with approved methods and quality standards.
- Supervises the day-to-day operations and people in the areas of safety, quality, efficiency, teamwork and housekeeping.
Requirements
- Proven experience in casting, talent management, or a related field.
- Strong negotiation skills with the ability to advocate for both the organization and the talent.
- Familiarity with social media management tools and strategies for effective outreach.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to interact effectively with diverse stakeholders.
- Experience in agency management is preferred but not mandatory.
- Ability to work under tight deadlines while maintaining attention to detail.

- Training of operators on existing and new production systems
- Coordinates appropriate staffing levels including hiring and/or layoff situations. This includes supporting data to affect staffing increases/reductions.
- Has the authorization to stop production to avoid manufacturing of defective or potentially defective components.
- Maintain a high level of employee satisfaction.
- Implementation of 5S program in production area.
- Works with other departments such as Materials, Manufacturing Engineering, Quality Assurance, Sales & Engineering, Purchasing, etc.
- Supports planning of the layout of equipment, workflow, manufacturing methods, and workforce utilization.
- Ensure material availability to secure uninterrupted material flow to machines
- Follow pre-validation process of different cavities/molds to avoid production interruption
- Check with shift technician process release, in timely manner, for production release, validate all machines are released per Checklist
