Overview
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented CMM Operator to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for performing precise measurements and inspections of manufactured components using Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMM). This role is crucial in ensuring that products meet quality standards and specifications. The CMM Operator will work closely with engineering and quality assurance teams to maintain high levels of accuracy in dimensional inspection.
Responsibilities
- Operate and program CMM equipment to perform dimensional inspections on various components.
- Conduct quality control checks using precision measuring instruments, including micrometers and calipers.
- Interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings to understand measurement requirements.
- Utilize GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing) principles to ensure compliance with design specifications.
- Document inspection results and maintain accurate records of measurements for quality assurance purposes.
- Collaborate with automotive teams to provide feedback on product quality and suggest improvements.
- Troubleshoot and resolve any issues related to measurement processes or equipment malfunctions.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, ensuring all equipment is calibrated and functioning correctly.
Requirements
- Proficiency in operating CMM equipment .
- Strong understanding of precision measuring instruments, including micrometers, calipers, and gauges.
- Experience in dimensional inspection techniques and quality control processes.
- Knowledge of GD&T principles and ability to read blueprints and schematics effectively.
- Detail-oriented with excellent analytical skills to identify discrepancies in measurements.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Previous experience in a manufacturing or engineering setting is preferred but not required.
