We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Licensed Vocational Nurse to join our clients pediatric private practice. The LVN will play a key role in supporting physicians, providing direct patient care, and ensuring a welcoming and comfortable environment for our young patients and their families. This role involves working closely with pediatric patients, administering care, assisting in examinations, and performing various clinical and administrative tasks to support the daily operations of the practice.
Key ResponsibilitiesPatient Care:
- Perform routine nursing duties such as obtaining vital signs (temperature, blood pressure, heart rate, weight, height).
- Administer medications and vaccines as ordered by physicians.
- Assist with patient examinations and procedures.
- Monitor patient conditions and report any changes or concerns to the physician.
- Provide basic pediatric care, including assisting with feeding and comfort measures for infants and children.
Clinical Support:
- Collect specimens for laboratory tests (urine, blood, throat swabs) and ensure proper labeling and handling.
- Prepare exam rooms, ensuring they are stocked with necessary medical supplies and equipment.
- Assist physicians during minor in-office procedures.
- Perform EKGs, respiratory treatments, and other diagnostic tests as directed.
Patient & Family Education:
- Provide patient and family education on treatment plans, medications, vaccines, and health promotion (nutrition, hygiene, preventative care).
- Answer patient and parent questions and provide follow-up care instructions.
Administrative Duties:
- Maintain accurate and detailed electronic medical records (EHR), documenting patient history, treatments, and vital signs.
- Assist with scheduling patient appointments and following up on referrals.
- Handle insurance verification, prior authorizations, and processing medication refill requests.
- Ensure compliance with all HIPAA regulations and maintain patient confidentiality.
- Licensure: Active LVN license in the state of Californa.
- Education: Graduate from an accredited LVN program.
- Certification: Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required; Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) preferred.
- Experience: Previous experience in a pediatric setting is required.
