About this Role Utilities Planner II & III
We provide engineering, procurement, and construction services for comprehensive infrastructure needs in the electric power, oil, and natural gas industries. With knowledge and expertise to handle a full spectrum of projects, we execute everything from straightforward single-component installations to complex multi-state projects safely, efficiently, and cost-effectively. We are looking for a dynamic individual to add their technical expertise to our Upland Design Team. The successful candidate will have five or more years of experience in Electrical Utility Distribution Design, Transmission Design, Distribution Line construction, or Electrical Engineering disciplines.
What You'll Do
- Provide design and construction knowledge for Lighting, Underground (UG), and Overhead (OH) Utility systems.
- Perform design and engineering services on multiple concurrent projects, ranging from single units to large complex projects, with strict adherence to standards and deadlines.
- Utilize utility Geographical Information Systems, planning database systems, and material ordering systems.
- Provide technical expertise and guidance in the identification, analysis, and resolution of complex design issues using published construction standards and regulations.
- Plan, organize, schedule, and monitor work activities effectively.
- Create thorough and accurate technical reports, correspondence, documentation, calculations, drawings, and sketches.
- Continuously improve job-related technical and professional knowledge, skills, and performance.
- Mentor and collaborate with peers and trainees in a fast-paced team environment.
- Travel up to % and work in the field across the service territory, including remote regions such as the coast, desert, and mountains in California. Occasional lifting of typically less than lbs. may be required, along with work in various weather conditions.
