Job Title: Loan Officer
Main Location to work: Kiowa, KS Branch
This position is responsible for underwriting, structuring and closing of agricultural, commercial and consumer loans as well as maintaining and servicing existing loan portfolios. This position will manage a large and complex portfolio of agriculture and commercial loans. In addition, this person will develop a business referral network to represent the Bank and attract new business by marketing Bank products and services. This position will be accountable for ensuring all required documentation is maintained for the loan file.
Main focus:
· Work with the lending team at Kiowa in retaining and expanding existing customer relationships and cultivating new business.
Other Job Expectations:
· Solicit, develop, and service a wide variety of agricultural, commercial and consumer loans and lines of credit, both secured and unsecured; Contribute to profitability and growth of bank by building, developing, and managing new and expanded customer relationships.
· Analyze customer personal, business, or financial needs; Negotiate term, structure loan financing based on risk considerations and present credit for approval to appropriate levels of authority as require.
· Analyze both operational and financial aspects of loan credits to help in determining if the customer’s current plan is working or will work; if not, assist in determining resolutions for a new plan or modifications to existing plan.
· Work with the Chief Credit Risk Officer and Credit Analysts to become familiar with the credit analysis program and the flow of information, as well as the process of approval and loan completions.
· Review and update credit/loan files on a regular basis; negotiate payment arrangements for delinquent loans;
· Ensure compliance with applicable regulations and maintain a current and thorough knowledge of all programs, policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
· Responsible for developing new customer relationships with Alva State Bank and retaining customers through ongoing communication, monitoring and negotiations. Communicate directly with and represent the bank to current and prospective customers.
· Promote a favorable image of the bank when dealing with the business community. Maintain complete confidentiality in all areas of work.
Experience or Education
o College degree in finance, accounting, economics, or related field and/or 5 years banking experience in the lending area.
