Job Description
Intake Coordinator needed at our main campus in La Mesa, CA
Intake Coordinators assess the needs of phone callers, schedule appointments, give referrals, and coordinate care for patients in need. This position requires excellent time management and organizational skills, good written and direct verbal communication, computer literacy, and flexibility. Our Intake Coordinators provide initial coordination of information for clients, their family members, physicians, referral sources, staff and others involved in assuring continuity of patient care. Document all referral related information, actions are taken, and follow-up required in the medical record in a timely and accurate manner and ensure referral orders are reviewed by appropriate clinical assessment staff. Must be flexible in work hours in order to meet patient and organization operating needs. Must have availability to work scheduled weekdays, weekends, and holidays.

Customer service focused, including the ability to set the caller at ease and encourage open dialogue about the client’s needs and ability to maintain composure in addressing stressful and/or challenging situations. Excellent organizational skills as well as telephone, verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to communicate with both professionals and non-professionals. Knowledge and skills in the use of computers and software programs
Experience
Prior experience working in a call center for a psychiatric setting and experience working with mentally ill patients in a hospital/residential setting required.
Education
Bachelor's Degree in Psychology or related field preferred.
