WHAT WILL YOU DO
The Medical Laboratory Science (MLS) Program Director manages both the day-to-day operations of the Medical Laboratory Science program as well as collaborates with Franciscan Health Dyer Program Director Medical Lab Sciences and Alverno Laboratories senior leaders to provide overall direction for the future of the program. The Director recruits, interviews, and selects the students who will enter the program and directs the actions of the clinical faculty supporting the program. The Program Director designs, evaluates, and amends program curriculum based upon its effectiveness, and in accordance with the National Accrediting Agency for Clinical Laboratory Sciences (NAACLS) Standards. This individual shall maintain a healing environment for employees and patients with a spirit of caring and concern as incorporated in the philosophy of our Catholic Healthcare systems while performing job functions.
WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR
MT/MLS (ASCP) certification AND master’s degree from a regionally accredited college/university including courses in biological science, chemistry and mathematics, AND successful completion of a NAACLS accredited Medical Laboratory Science program required.
ASCP-BOC or ASCPi-BOC generalist certification as a Medical Laboratory Scientist/Medical Technologist required.
Three years of teaching experience required.
Knowledge of education methods and administration as well as current NAACLS accreditation procedures and certification procedures required.
