Job Summary: Alvin Community College seeks a part-time faculty member to teach Astronomy or Physics courses. The successful candidate will possess a master's degree with 18 graduate semester hours in Astronomy or Physics from a regionally accredited college/university and have teaching experience at the college or university level.

Minimum Qualifications: Master's degree with 18 graduate semester hours in Astronomy or Physics from a regionally accredited college/university.
Preferences: Master's degree in Astronomy, Physics or related physical science from a regionally accredited college/university; at least one year of teaching experience at the college or university level; and familiarity with interactive teaching methods and instruction via the Internet.

- Demonstrate effective communication skills, both written and oral.
- Prepare and utilize a course syllabus and assessments for each course using guidelines established by the institution.
- Maintain current knowledge of effective teaching methodologies and utilize a variety of instructional delivery methods, classroom media, and educational resources.
