Job Title: Part-Time Faculty Pool for English and Math at Alvin Community College
Job Summary:
This is a part-time adjunct faculty position teaching freshmen and sophomore level courses in English and Math to college students in the Texas Department of Criminal Justice (TDCJ) General Education and Academic Support areas.
Essential Duties:
Teach English and Math courses to TDCJ offenders, attend 7-hour in-person Pre-Service TDCJ security training, submit annual In-Service Training, instruct and supervise students, demonstrate effective communication skills, prepare course syllabi and assessments, maintain current knowledge of teaching methodologies, utilize instructional delivery methods, and assist with recruitment and retention of students.
Requirements:
Masters degree with 18 graduate semester hours in English or Mathematics from a regionally accredited college/university, working knowledge of Microsoft Office programs and intermediate computer skills, familiarity with interactive teaching methods and instruction via the Internet. Candidates must pass a criminal background check by the Texas Department of Criminal Justice (TDCJ).
