This position performs sales duties utilizing a computerized point-of-sale system, operates the Coffee Bar (making drinks to order while maintain ServSafe Food Safety), monitors store inventory, and restocks shelves and coffee supplies when necessary.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESOperates sales terminals in College Store and Coffee BarAssists customers and provides friendly customer servicePrices and stocks textbooks and merchandiseAssists customers with special orders: nursing pins, graduation uniforms, graduation invitations, etcReviews inventory and informs manager of items to be ordered and assists with ordersAssists with textbook returns (cleaning and packing)Assists with daily store opening/closing (when necessary), which includes: locking doors, removing cash drawers, closing sales terminals, securing cash in the safe and closing processes on point of sale systemAssists with web orders and textbook reservationsAssists with annual physical inventoryAssists with merchandising and store displaysResponsible for keeping store and coffee bar clean, neat and orderlyAssists with store promotionsAssists with arranging textbooks in course number orderResponsible for stocking sales terminal suppliesAssists with receiving textbooks and merchandiseAssists with food service area – transport food to campus, prepare drinks, serve, sell and cleanupMust have or be able to obtain ServSafe Food Handler’s Certificate within 30 days of employmentThe College will pay for the on-line course and exam for those individuals who need to obtain the Certificate Other related duties as assignedWORK ENVIRONMENTThe incumbent typically works in an office and coffee bar environment and uses a computer, telephone, other office equipment, hot/cold beverage maker, and hot/cold food service equipment as needed to perform duties. The noise level in the work environment is typical of that of a coffee bar and College Bookstore. Incumbent may encounter frequent interruptions throughout the work day. PHYSICAL DEMANDSThe employee is regularly required to sit, talk, or hear; frequently required to use repetitive hand motion, handle or feel, and to stand, walk, reach, bend or lift up to twenty (20) pounds.
