Description of the role:
As a Nurse Aide / Caregiver In Home at Always Best Care Senior Services - Oahu, you will play a crucial role in providing compassionate and personalized care to seniors in the Lihue, Hawaii area. You will be responsible for assisting with activities of daily living, such as bathing, dressing, and meal preparation, while ensuring the safety and well-being of our clients. This role requires excellent communication skills, empathy, and a genuine passion for helping others.
Responsibilities:
- Assist seniors with bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting
- Prepare meals and assist with feeding
- Administer medications and monitor vital signs
- Provide companionship and engage in meaningful conversations
- Perform light housekeeping tasks and assist with laundry
- Accompany clients to appointments and outings
Requirements:
- Certified Nurse Aide (CNA) or similar certification preferred
- Prior experience in caregiving or related field
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
- Ability to lift and transfer individuals as needed
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Compassionate and patient demeanor

From basic companion care (which includes, but is not limited to light housekeeping, sitter care, transportation, meal preparation, etc.) to more integral personal care (which includes, but is not limited to incontinence care, transferring, dressing and bathing, etc.), our Caregivers provide a wide range of services. They also may work a variety of shifts, from 1-24 hours (live-in), over weekends, at night, in the morning, etc.
Additional requirements include:
- At least one year of experience working with seniors in a home setting
- English proficiency and excellent communication skills
- Two references required
- Proof of a TB test taken within the last year showing clear results
- Must be able to pass background check
- CNA, HHA, and BLS/CPR training a plus
