What are the responsibilities and job description for the Production Scheduler position at Alwin Manufacturing?
Position Summary:
Responsible for coordinating production schedules and material acquisition for the plant. Ensures that labor is allocated according to priorities and that materials are available at the time of production runs. Creates a schedule that maintains efficiency in manufacturing. Works with warehouse and inventory departments to verify material availability. Investigates material stocking levels and works with purchasing department to address material shortages or concerns. Coordinates with sales department and sister facilities to maximize production and sales output. Works closely with production supervisors and leads to verify proper jobs are being run and working around production constraints.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
· Plans daily, weekly, and monthly schedules for production on all work centers in the facility.
· Manages the scheduling module in IQMS to ensure that MRP is properly driving component demand.
· Sends out daily production notes and planning correspondence to all required parties.
· Communicates effectively and proactively with production on a daily basis regarding upcoming job changes, new products, and material availability.
· Communicates regularly with sales department regarding job priorities and constraints.
· Monitors open order reports and regularly updates late order reasonings.
· Monitors on-hand inventory of high-volume and job-specific components to ensure sufficient inventory levels.
· Works cooperatively with sister companies to plan production around mutual scheduling conflicts.
· Corresponds daily with sister facilities including sending daily lists of material requirements.
· BOM verification and Substitute BoM creation
· Regularly uses and comfortably navigates all scheduling modules in IQMS including BoM, Work Orders, Inventory, Inventory Transactions and Locations, Finite Manufacturing Scheduling, Sales Orders, and others.
· Directs purchasing dept on raw material POs needed and ensures raw materials are stocked at an acceptable level
· Learns product production times and estimates production rates based on historical data.
· Maintains all reports, forms and paperwork as requested by Sales, Customer service and/or supervisor.
· Advises shipping department on ETA for order completion or constraints for late orders.
· Prepares contingencies for production to ensure that labor availability is maximized at all times.
· Maintains a calm and positive attitude during stressful or unpredictable situations.
· Maintains a friendly and cooperative work environment.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $18.00 - $20.00 per hour
Expected hours: No less than 40 per week
