Life Engagement Director

Job Summary
The Engagement Director plays a pivotal role in enhancing the quality of life for residents in our senior care facilities. This position is responsible for developing and implementing engaging programs and activities that promote social interaction, cognitive stimulation, and emotional well-being among residents. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in dementia care, long-term care, and event planning, with a passion for improving the lives of seniors.

Duties

• Design and oversee engaging programs tailored to the interests and needs of residents, focusing on memory care and cognitive activities.
• Collaborate with nursing staff to ensure that all activities are suitable for residents with varying levels of ability and health conditions.
• Manage schedules for activities, ensuring optimal participation while accommodating individual resident needs.
• Facilitate training sessions for staff on best practices in engagement techniques and dementia care.
• Organize special events that foster community involvement and enhance resident socialization.
• Conduct assessments to evaluate the effectiveness of engagement programs and make necessary adjustments based on feedback.
• Provide support and counseling related to aging issues for residents and their families, ensuring they feel valued and heard.
• Maintain strong relationships with families, encouraging their involvement in events and activities.

Experience

• Background in social work or counseling related to aging issues is highly desirable.
• Experience in event planning, particularly within a healthcare or senior living context, is preferred.
• Familiarity with memory care techniques and dementia support strategies is crucial.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple schedules effectively.
• Excellent communication skills to interact positively with residents, families, and staff members.
• Proven experience in assisted living facilities is essential.
