Maintenance Mechanic, Lube Truck
JOB SUMMARY
Maintain and repair gasoline and diesel powered equipment including trucks, draglines, bulldozers, loaders (track and rubber tired), motor grader, automobiles and other bridge construction equipment. Travel from jobsite to jobsite generally in Iowa, Nebraska, Kansas, Oklahoma, Arkansas and Missouri. Work Monday to Friday, and some weekends, usually 40-50 hours per week. Overnight stays may be required. Must furnish own hand tools.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

- Follow company handbooks and other instructions
- Use and care for tools, equipment and materials
- Understand and follow equipment maintenance and repair manuals
ADDITIONAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Perform general mechanical repair work
- Weld, fabricate and modify equipment
- Operate testing equipment and diagnose malfunctions
- Fill out reports about maintenance and repair work performed
- Read and interpret Safety Data Sheets and container labels
- Identify and communicate safety concerns to management in a timely manner
- Perform other duties as assigned by management
REQUIREMENTS
Education, Experience & Certification
- High School graduate or G.E.D. preferred
- Completion of a two-year technical program in heavy equipment mechanics preferred
- Valid CDL Driver’s License
- Understand operating principles of gasoline and diesel engines
- Knowledge of the occupational hazards and safety precautions of the trade
Physical
- Normal range of vision and hearing (with correction)
- Work in flat, horizontal, vertical and possibly overhead positions
- Walk, stand, climb, bend, kneel, reach, lift and balance
- Lift up to 50 pounds on a regular basis
- Work safely in adverse weather conditions including wind, rain, snow, ice, mud, heat, etc.
