PRINCIPLE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Research engineering drawings, vendor data and specifications, confers with Design Engineers, Project Engineers and Development Mechanics and observes vehicle development and material installation, gaining insight to perform provisioning assignments and direction of subordinate technicians
- Organizes LSA Reports and drawing data, providing an orderly plan for preparation of RPSTL manual
- Coordinates and assigns to subordinate technicians the compilation of military parts manuals concerning repair and maintenance of vehicular equipment and components
- Obtains desired illustrations and photographs for manuals
- Responsible for correct execution and flow of assigned writing tasks as to both volume and character of work
- Coordinates and performs layout paste-up and composition of manuals
- Review technical data and illustrations for format, completeness and technical accuracy
- Plans and schedules writing and illustration requirements to meet delivery schedules
- Inspects work performed by subordinates for conformance with policies, procedures and specifications and makes recommendation for acceptance
- Reviews each section of assigned manual for adequacy and compliance with governing requirements
- Coordinates entire project through final draft of manual, ensuring compliance with Tank Automotive Command specifications and objectives
- Operates computer software, PowerLOGJ2 and various programs to review and make changes to the Logistics Management Information (LMI) and Government’s related files
- Prepares status reports and special reports of provisioning transactions for analysis at Provisioning Conferences
- Attends Provisioning Conferences at Government and other facilities
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS
- Thorough knowledge of the following is required for this position: GEIA-HB-0007, MIL-STD-1388-2B, MIL-STD-40051, MIL-PRF-49506, PowerLOGJ2 procedures, and provisioning regulations
- Associate degree or minimum two years of provisioning experience required
PHYSICAL EFFORT
- Sight: must be able to regularly read computer screen, reports, and various documents with detail and clarity to accomplish work tasks in a safe and efficient manner, including regular use of adequate close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, and ability to adjust focus
- Hearing: must be able to regularly hear well enough to communicate
WORKING CONDITIONS
- Physical Location: This position operates between an office and manufacturing plant environment and is often assigned to a specific shift or hours. The Employee must be able to perform job functions in an environment with varying difficult work conditions such as extreme cold, heat, inclement weather, at heights, and/or while exposed to constant/intermittent loud noises
- Teamwork: This position will work with others to ensure efficiency in the workplace
- Listening Skills: This position will need to understand how to use machinery properly and safely to prevent accidents and ensure all tasks are completed accurately
- Ability to follow instructions: Managers assign tasks and responsibilities, which vary; this position should be able to follow instructions competently
- Methodical approach: Production lines follow a set process, so this position needs a methodical approach to ensure all tasks are completed in the correct order for a smooth-running production line
- Concentration: This position may perform the same or similar tasks repeatedly, so a strong level of concentration when carrying out these tasks is important for quality control purposes. This role is often fast paced, so being able to maintain focus at all times is important
