TITLE: MOTOR FREIGHT ASSOCIATE
The Motor Freight Team picks, packs, verifies, and loads orders that ship by motor freight. The Motor Freight Team stages and ships large orders and assists with other Distribution Center tasks as required.
This position is part of the greater Distribution Center team. As such, this position will be cross-trained in other areas within the Distribution Center and will be called upon to fill in within other areas as needed.
This position reports to the Poly & Motor Freight Supervisor. Hourly salary starts at $16.44 with .50 increases at six-months and one year.
Essential Functions
- Pick, pack verify and load orders to be shipped using a variety of equipment
- Read customer orders, work orders, shipping orders or requests to determine items to be moved, gathered, distributed and/or shipped
- Assemble orders from stock and place orders on pallets, or relocate orders to a holding or shipping area
- Record amounts of materials distributed via appropriate computer program
- Assist in counting of physical inventory
- May be assigned facilities maintenance duties, as needed
- Sweep, dust, mop and always organize warehouse and work area for orderliness

Required Education & Experience
- Minimum of a High School diploma or equivalent
- Experience in using various equipment, including (but not limited to) turret truck, tow motor, stock picker and forklift
- Ability to understand and implement safety guidelines
- Demonstrate detail orientation including handling situations that require reading codes, numbers, or other strings of digits or letters

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are Monday-Friday, 8:30am to 5:00pm with overtime as needed.
