Job Summary
AM Specialty Insurance Company (ASIC) is actively seeking an experienced Head of Claims to lead and oversee all aspects of our claims operations. This role is critical in managing claims strategy, compliance, and operational execution to ensure high-quality claims handling, regulatory adherence, and financial efficiency. The Head of Claims will work closely with underwriting, finance, legal, and external partners to optimize claims performance while maintaining ASIC’s commitment to superior service and risk management.
This is a full-time, in-person role based in Dallas, TX.
Major Responsibilities
- Strategic Oversight & Leadership
- Develop and execute ASIC’s claims strategy, ensuring alignment with corporate goals.
- Provide leadership and direction to internal claims teams, TPAs, and external claims partners.
- Establish and maintain claims policies, procedures, and best practices to optimize efficiency and compliance.
- Claims Management & Operations
- Oversee all aspects of claims handling, including property, casualty, and specialty lines.
- Review and approve high-value claims, ensuring proper reserving and financial accuracy.
- Manage large-loss claims, coverage disputes, and complex litigation matters.
- Work closely with underwriting and reinsurance teams to evaluate loss trends and mitigation strategies.
- Regulatory Compliance & Risk Management
- Ensure compliance with all state and federal regulatory requirements.
- Implement and monitor claims governance and oversight for internal teams and third-party administrators (TPAs).
- Conduct claims audits and monitor key performance metrics to improve efficiency and reduce loss costs.
- Financial Performance & Reporting
- Track claims trends and provide data-driven insights to improve underwriting and risk selection.
- Manage claims-related financial reporting, loss ratio analysis, and reinsurance claims coordination.
- Oversee claims budget and work with finance on reserving strategies.
- Stakeholder Collaboration
- Act as a liaison between ASIC leadership, reinsurers, legal teams, and external claims partners.
- Engage with executives, underwriters, and distribution partners to drive claims efficiencies and enhance customer satisfaction.
Qualifications
- 10 years of experience in claims management, with leadership experience preferred.
- Strong knowledge of property, casualty, and specialty insurance claims.
- Expertise in managing third-party administrators (TPAs) and external vendors.
- Experience with regulatory compliance, claims litigation, and financial analysis.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong organizational and strategic-thinking abilities.
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Insurance, Risk Management, or a related field preferred.
