Job Summary
AM Specialty Insurance Group is actively seeking a contract software engineer to support the development and maintenance of our internal systems. This role is integral to evolving our proprietary software and enhancing our technological infrastructure. The ideal candidate will be someone passionate about automation, efficiency, and working in a fast-paced, data-driven environment.
This is a contractor role with an in-person work requirement based in Dallas, TX.
Major Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and implement scalable technology solutions.
- Enhance and maintain existing software to improve efficiency and user experience.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate insurance and reinsurance business needs into data-driven solutions.
- Infuse best practices in software development, ensuring maintainability, scalability, and security.
- Participate in code reviews, design discussions, and continuous improvements.
- Identify and address software vulnerabilities and performance issues.
Requirements
- 2 years of experience in software development.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to work independently and collaboratively.
- Exceptional problem-solving and analytical abilities.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and report progress efficiently.
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.
Technical Requirements
- 2 years of experience with JavaScript/TypeScript.
- 2 years of experience with MERN Stack (MongoDB, Express, React/Next.js, Node.js).
- Experience with Python and FastAPI.
- Familiarity with Docker.
Preferred Skills
- Experience with PostgreSQL.
- Familiarity with UI/UX tools like Figma.
Additional Details
- Contractor role – this is not an employee position.
- Must be available for full-time, in-person work at our Dallas, TX office.
