WordPress / Front End Developer

AMAC Inc is seeking a Front End Developer to join our team in a full-time position based in Long Island, NY. This role involves working collaboratively to build, maintain, and scale our company websites, focusing heavily on WordPress themes, custom plugins, and front-end design.

As part of a cross-functional team that includes engineering, product management, design, and marketing, you will play a key role in shaping the digital experience for our members. Responsibilities:

• Develop, maintain, and enhance WordPress themes and plugins with a focus on frontend capabilities.
• Update and maintain static HTML content on various join form landing pages.
• Work through different phases of the software development lifecycle, including estimating effort, choosing the best approach, developing, QA testing, deploying, and supporting features.
• Implement responsive web designs that are fast and scalable across all devices.
• Document solutions, note trade-offs, and recommend potential solutions to meet business and user needs.
• Collaborate across the IT department to ensure adherence to best practices and standard methodologies.

Qualifications:

• 3-5 years of professional development experience with a strong focus on JavaScript, jQuery, HTML5, and CSS3.
• 1-2 years of in-depth experience with WordPress, including theme and plugin development.
• Experience with PHP and front-end technologies related to WordPress.
• Proficiency in using GIT in a team setting.
• Understanding of UI/UX principles, coding conventions, and security practices.
• Experience in native mobile development (iOS & Android) is a plus.

Job Details:

• Location: On-site in Long Island, NY (only local candidates should apply)
• Job Type: Full-time
• Salary: $55,000.00 - $75,000.00 per year
• This is primarily an in-person role with the opportunity for partial remote work.
• Work Schedule: Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm, with hybrid options available. Candidates must be local. Infrequent after-hours updates may be required.
