POSITION SUMMARY
Amachi Pittsburgh seeks a proactive and mission-driven Outreach Specialist to join a dynamic team. The role will assist with community engagement, recruitment, and program delivery efforts, with a special focus on the HERE4U Mobile Learning Program. This program brings educational and mentoring resources directly to communities through a mobile outreach vehicle. The ideal candidate is an organized and strategic thinker with strong communication skills, comfortable engaging both individuals and large groups in dynamic settings. This role requires flexibility, creativity, and the ability to develop and sustain meaningful relationships with youth, families, mentors, and community partners.
Reporting to the Chief of Staff, the Outreach Specialist will play a critical role in enhancing Amachi Pittsburgh’s visibility, ensuring community members have access to vital resources, and strengthening partnerships that support mentorship and family engagement programs.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Community Engagement and Outreach
- Develop and implement targeted recruitment strategies for mentors, volunteers, and families, ensuring alignment with Amachi Pittsburgh’s goals.
- Manage and execute community outreach efforts through the HERE4U Mobile Learning Program, bringing educational workshops, resources, and engagement opportunities to neighborhoods across Allegheny County.
- Build partnerships with local organizations, faith-based groups, schools, and other stakeholders to increase community participation.
- Represent Amachi Pittsburgh at public events, tabling opportunities, and speaking engagements.
- Develop culturally responsive outreach materials and presentations that align with community needs.
Program Coordination
- Oversee and coordinate the HERE4U Mobile Learning Program, ensuring seamless program execution, logistics, and engagement with target communities.
- Work with internal teams to create and deliver programming through the mobile outreach vehicle, including interactive workshops, mentorship sessions, and resource distribution.
- Plan, execute, and evaluate community events, ensuring alignment with outreach and programming goals.
- Manage shared tools, such as event trackers and program schedules, to enhance team collaboration and efficiency.
- Support training efforts for volunteers and community members to ensure they can effectively engage with Amachi’s programming.
Data Collection & Reporting
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of outreach activities, attendance, and participant feedback using electronic databases and reporting tools.
- Assist in analyzing community needs and trends to inform outreach strategy and program development.
- Provide organized data and insights to support grant reporting, program evaluation, and internal decision-making.
Collaboration & Professional Development
- Work closely with other departments to ensure a seamless integration of outreach, programming, and volunteer engagement efforts.
- Engage in professional development opportunities to strengthen skills in areas such as community engagement, project management, and data analysis.
- Participate in staff meetings and strategy sessions to align outreach efforts with broader organizational priorities.
Education/Experience & Certifications
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field required
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (SharePoint, Word, Excel, Outlook)
- 2 years of experience working with marginalized communities.
- Proficiency in project management tools and data tracking systems.
- Valid PA driver’s license with a clean driving record.
- CPR and First Aid certification preferred or willing to obtain upon hire.
