Job Summary: The Shipping Supervisor oversee and supervises shipping employees and drives to ensure all items are prepared and shipped on time while complying with company policy. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities.

Supervisory Responsibilities: The manager is responsible for supervising staff, in accordance with company policy and AMACO Core Values, including:

 Recruiting, interviewing, hiring, communicating job expectations, and training new staff in the department

 Overseeing the daily workflow and schedules of the department such as delegating tasks, determining priorities in work assignments, and evaluating manpower needs

 Monitoring work quality and conducts performance evaluations that are timely and constructive

 Ensuring a safe and inclusive workplace

 Continually Builds employee relations, provide employee coaching and development, and resolve employee issues through problem resolution.

Responsibilities:

 Tracking and coordinating the preparing of outgoing shipments and timely delivery of goods and materials.

 Manage departmental performance measures and provide regular progress reports to management staff via Gemba Boards.

 Maintaining records, reporting relevant information, and preparing any necessary documentation.

 Implement and standardize visual controls, Work Instructions (TWI), Standard work and hourly management.

 Maintain proper inventory levels in EPR system.

 Train subordinates to utilize A3 problem solving methodology in which to resolve issues with received goods or inventory.

 Perform accident investigations via A3 problem solving methodology in which to resolve issues in the warehouse environment.

 Perform accident investigations via A3 or DMAIC methodology

 Communicating and coordinating with other departments and customers.

 Operates forklift truck when necessary.

 Performs other related duties as assigned.

Skills:

 Strong working knowledge of warehouse operations.

 Time management skills and the ability to delegate.

 Excellent leadership and organizational skills.

 Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

 Problem-solving skills.

 Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite.

 Working knowledge of Microsoft Dynamics NAV or other ERP systems.

 Ability to work effectively in a team environment.

Education and Experience: Required:

 High School Diploma or GED Equivalent

 5 years of related experience in warehouse, receiving, or shipping

 1 – 2 years of experience as a lead or supervisor Preferred:

 Degree in business, management, logistics, or related experience

 2 – 3 years of supervisory experience

Warehouse Environment:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts and vibration. The noise level in the work environment and job sites can be loud.

Physical Demands: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to sit; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work:

This is a full-time position. Hours of work are Monday through Thursday, 40 hours per week. Occasional evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand.

Travel:

No travel is expected for this position.
