What are the responsibilities and job description for the Controller position at Amaero Advanced Materials & Manufacturing, Inc.?
The Controller is responsible to lead the accounting department for Amaero Advanced Materials and Manufacturing, Inc. (“Amaero” or, “the Company”). The Controller will be in the leadership, development, and execution of the Company's accounting operations. This includes production of financial reports, operational projections and analysis, financial modelling, general ledger oversight, and enhancement of the internal control environment.
This position will be located at our newly constructed 100,000sq ft. McDonald, TN location near Chattanooga. This region is one of the fastest growing areas in the United States and offers a lot of nature, art, and cultural activities. Nestled between the Tennessee River and the Appalachian Mountains there is easy access to entertainment in Nashville (2-hour drive), historical Rocket City Huntsville, AL (2-hour drive), Atlanta, GA (2-hour drive) and Knoxville, TN (1-hour).
KEY RESPONSIBILITES:
Prepare and review reports, analysis, and reconciliations to ensure the accuracy of financial reporting
Compare actuals to annual plan and monthly forecast
Lead the monthly financial close process and preparation of financial statements, journal entries, and accruals
Manage projects/initiatives, working with and directing teams to deliver the best solutions to operational or financial tasks and challenges
Oversee operational costing, including fixed and variable cost application
Monitor and report capital expenditure information to management team
Ensure proper supporting documents, analysis, and other information are maintained and provided to appropriate stakeholders
Partner with team to identify transaction issues and improvement opportunities
Independently research financial transactions as needed and determine proper resolution
Create operational reports and key performance indicators for use in recurring review and strategic decision making
SKILLS:
Experience in financial modelling utilizing advanced MS Excel concepts
Demonstrated understanding of financial reporting regulations, concepts and financial controls
Effective communication skills with the ability to convey and explain complex policies and guidelines
Experience in creating an information system and platform that supports significant business growth preferred
Advanced skills in MS office programs (Excel, PowerPoint, Word)
Strong experience with Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) based systems
Experience leading and/or supervising others with direct or indirect reports
QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS:
Bachelor’s degree in accounting / finance
3 years of experience in a manufacturing environment
CPA preferred
Must pass pre-employment drug/alcohol screening and background check
