Overview Represents the Company, its affiliated companies, and client ERISA Funds in all facets of federal court litigation (primarily collection-related). Prepares various documents and reports for Court, Company Management, and Funds’ Trustees. Manages a team of two (2) paralegals who work in the above areas. Supervises the work of local counsel nationally to ensure compliance with Funds’ litigation requirements.Responsibilities Draft court documents, including pleadings, briefs, discovery requests, and demand letters.Attend court appearances and make arguments.Conduct meetings and negotiations.Prepare for and examine parties and witnesses at depositions.Prepare Trustees’ reports, opinion letters, and settlement agreements.Coordinate with Company affiliated Companies’ staff.Supervise local counsel and Funds Staff.Qualifications Law degree, admitted in New York State and federal courts.Two or more years' experience as an attorney.Ability to successfully communicate legal and financial concepts using verbal and written communication skills.Well-developed analytical and advocacy skills, both written and oral.Helpful Knowledge ERISA, including representation of multi-employer funds and withdrawal liability.Federal Rules of Civil Procedure, discovery and federal court litigation, NYS Civil Practice Law and Rules.Collection practices and procedures.Computer programs including : Westlaw; Court databases (ECF, PACER); Lexis / Nexis / Accurint; Dun & Bradstreet; Word; MS Office Suite; Excel.Ability to manage paralegal staff.Proven success operating in a fast-paced, customer service environment.Highly developed sense of professionalism, integrity, and commitment to client and member satisfaction.Ability to work independently, multi-task, and prioritize projects and deliverables.Excellent organizational and decision-making skills with the willingness to use available resources to deliver on multiple priorities.Must be dependable and demonstrate punctuality and reliable attendance.Excellent communication skills (written and verbal), including interpersonal and presentation skills.Work Environment and Benefits Hybrid work environment : 4 days in White Plains, NY with 1 scheduled work from home day.Commuter benefits including free onsite parking and shuttle service from White Plains Train Station.Training, growth, and development opportunities.Generous vacation, paid time off, and holidays.Subsidized company-sponsored Medical, Dental, and Vision insurance.Employer-sponsored life insurance and long-term disability.Employee Assistance Program.401K plan with employer contribution.Defined benefit pension.A team working environment with an established culture of inclusion and belonging which supports a healthy work / life balance.Employee recognition events.Salary : 130-150K#J-18808-Ljbffr
