Instrument Person 3rd Class $29.05/hr.
* This position qualifies for a $5,000 sign-on bonus and a $500 referral bonus.
Amalgamated Sugar is seeking to fill an Instrument Person 3rd Class position to work in our Nampa Factory. This is a year-round, full-time position offering an excellent benefits package** upon completion of a 60-day probationary period.
An Instrument Person 3rd Class is responsible for the installation, maintenance, and calibration of various instrumentation devices, including but not limited to valves, analytical instrumentation, level, temperature, pressure, flow devices, and various static and continuous weighing systems. Must be able to troubleshoot these individual devices as well as understand the effect each has in regards to the process. New installations may require the technician to be able to fit instruments, run conduit, wire panels, read, and understand electrical and P&ID blue prints as well as perform initial setup procedures.
Essential Job Functions
1. Must be able and willing to work in full compliance with approved safety policies and procedures.
2. Must be willing and able to work a rotating shift schedule when necessary. This may include some holidays, weekends, and overtime as needed.
3. Must be a team player and effectively communicate and interact with co-workers as well as internal and external stakeholders such as engineers, plant management, and external vendors.
4. Ability to lift 75 lbs., stand up to 10 hours a day, reach with hands and arms, stoop, squat, bend at the waist, kneel, climb stairs, and move equipment as needed. Must be comfortable in year around outdoor temperatures, in loud conditions, and working around moving mechanical equipment.
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
· Ability to demonstrate an understanding and knowledge of electricity, controls, and instrumentation.
· Experience in an industrial environment preferred.
· DeltaV Distributive Control Systems (DCS)
· Allen Bradley, TI, Siemens PLCs.
· Visual Basic, Ladder Logic, MS Excel, MS Access.
Qualifications:
· High School diploma or equivalent preferred.
· Minimum of 60 credit hours or equivalent vocational training in industrial controls, instrumentation and/or electronics.
*New hires receive bonus in $400 increments for 12.5 pay periods, provided no scheduled days of work are missed.
$500 referral bonus is paid to current employees after the referred employee has been hired and completed 60 days of employment.
