The Amalgamated Sugar Company is seeking a Sugar Warehouse Manager. This position manages all activity within the facility’s Warehouse which includes bulk sugar railcar unloading, sugar handling and storage, warehousing and dry bulk loading, as well as other warehouse related efforts directed to the improvement of company warehouse operations. This is a day shift, Monday through Friday role with the expectation of off hours support for the team and factory as needed.
The Sugar Warehouse Manager is responsible for the safety of employees under their supervision and for the safe operation of all machinery and equipment used by those employees in the course of their employment, including the maximum effective use of all safety devices and equipment. This position is the Area Leader of the Sugar Warehouse and will work closely with a maintenance leader and Food Safety/Quality personnel to ensure safe, effective and efficient operations of the sugar warehouse and periphery equipment/processes. This position is also responsible for the safe, productive and efficient work of employees engaged in manufacturing processes, adherence to food/product quality controls, storing, and shipping of sugar in and out of the warehouse.
The Sugar Warehouse Manager is accountable for the accuracy of finished goods inventory, oversees that all employees are well trained in good manufacturing practice, controls costs for the department, selects equipment or processes for improvement, and schedules production operations. The Sugar Warehouse Manager will report to the Plant Manager.

Additional responsibilities:
- Coordinate preventative maintenance activities with maintenance team.
- Supervise silo cleaning operations.
- Manage employee performance, crew assignments, vacation requests, FMLA leave(s), time and attendance.
- Manage training, development assignment, and maximum utilization of employees under supervision to obtain the highest possible standards of individual employee growth and performance. Responsible for the establishment of rules of good housekeeping practices to see to it that high standards are maintained.
- Coordinate the execution of the Master Sanitation Schedule.
- Arrange for appropriate rail switching service into the facility.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in business preferred.
- Minimum three (3) years of experience in personnel management and warehouse operations.
- OR any equivalent combination of experience and training which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
- Must have extensive knowledge of rail and over the road shipping regulations.
