Job Description
POSITION OVERVIEW
Assist the Financial Controller with the overall daily administration of the accounting department and its functions including accurate and timely recording of transactions, reporting, and maintenance and compliance with Aman’s internal controls framework.

QUALIFICATIONS
o At least 5 years accounting experience, preferably within a luxury hotel/resort environment.
Assist the Financial Controller with the overall daily administration of the accounting department and its functions including accurate and timely recording of transactions, reporting, and maintenance and compliance with Aman’s internal controls framework.
RESPONSIBILITIES
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
o Direct oversight of accounting staff including training and development.
o Assist with monitoring, assessing, and maintaining internal controls and corporate policies and procedures.
o Prepare balance sheet account reconciliations, including bank reconciliations and others.
o Prepare various monthly closing entries and assist with the month end close process, analysis and reporting.
o Prepare and assist with Monthly Forecasting.
o Prepare & file monthly Sales & Use Taxes.
o Supports management in controlling costs within the budget and forecast.
o Assist with completion of annual budgeting process.
o Assist with internal and external audits.
o Assist Financial Controller with all other accounting functions and administration.
OTHER FUNCTIONS:
o Assistance with various financial analysis projects as directed by the Financial Controller.
o Provide back-up support for team members during planned and unplanned absences.
o Be a part of the Manager On Duty program, supporting the Operations team on a periodic rotational basis
QUALIFICATIONS
o At least 5 years accounting experience, preferably within a luxury hotel/resort environment.
o Degree in Accounting / Finance / Business is essential, and an accounting designation is desirable.
o Experience supervising small teams.
o Must have strong organizational skills and knowledge of standard filing systems with excellent verbal and written skills.
o Knowledge of or experience with Microsoft Word, Microsoft Outlook, Excel, and Internet.
o Experience and working knowledge of SunSystems or other large accounting system, Opera, Micros/Symphony and Birchstreet
o Must handle sensitive information in a confidential manner.
