Job Description

POSITION OVERVIEW

The Host assists the F&B Leadership Team in overseeing the Front of the House, welcoming guests, seating tables, ensuring guest reservations times are met, collecting and keeping record of guest preferences, and overall, making sure the guests are satisfied.


RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Assisting the F&B leadership team on ensuring the overall dining experience expectations of the guest are met.
  • The Host is the guest’s main point of contact when they enter the dining room for dinner.
  • Welcomes guests according to the resort standards and escorts them to their table.
  • Ensures tables are properly set with correct amount of table settings before guest are escorted.
  • Gives all reservations notes and guest preferences to the servers.
  • Presents the menus and explains them to the guest.
  • Obtains water preference for each guest.
  • Assist with all parameters that may affect the guest experience, such as room temperature, lighting, and overall appearance of the dining room.
  • Receives and coordinates guest reservations through the Reserve Reservation Software.
  • Always maintain a pleasant and welcoming environment for the guest’s enjoyment, ensuring the best dining experience.
  • Checks on guest throughout their dinner to ensure guest are satisfied.
  • Thanking and greeting guests with genuine appreciation before they leave.
  • Assessing guest complaints, inquiries and recommendations. Notifying management of any guest complaints.
  • Anticipating and addressing the guest’s needs.
  • Ensuring all menus and clean in good condition and accurate.
  • Speaking to guests and staff always using clear, professional, and respectful language.
  • Assisting in the setup and breakdown of special events and functions.
  • Food running – presenting food to guests according to standard.
  • Be prepared to answer any questions about the hotel or the food.
  • Assist on overseeing all the activities in the dining room/Library/Living Rooms.
  • Ensuring the highest quality standards are met for service. Checks for cleanliness & Organization on all dining room/storage areas.
  • Assist the F&B Leadership team in ensuring the Chef’s culinary vision and daily specials are properly shared with the guest.
  • Attending the daily line-up and knowing what the specials are and how many are available.
  • Supporting the team in a positive & helpful manner
  • Reporting missing or damaged items and lost and found items.
  • Keeping high personal grooming standards and maintaining a neat uniform.
  • Wearing a nametag at all times (on your left side).
  • Performing other duties as assigned by management.
  • Assisting in the setup and breakdown of special events and functions.
  • Familiar and compliant with all Amangiri policies and procedures.
  • Be prepared to answer any questions about the hotel or the food.
  • Polishing glasses and silverware.
  • Maintaining cleanliness of back of house and kitchen area.
  • Completing opening & closing responsibilities.


QUALIFICATIONS

  • Previous experience in a food and beverage setting.
  • Flexible schedule, including the ability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.
  • Positive, engaging, and energetic personality.
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
  • Ability to work under pressure and handle challenging situations with composure.
  • Proficiency in using computer systems and relevant software, Micros, SevenRooms, Opera, and other related software required for operations, is highly desired.
  • Ability to maintain a clean and professional appearance as per company policies.
  • Ability to carry, push, and pull heavy loads up to 45 lbs; standing, bending, twisting, and lifting will be required.
  • Ability to work indoors and outdoors, in various climates including extreme heat, cold, rain, and snow.
  • Able to stand for extended periods of time.
  • Sensitive to cultural nuances.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal in English.
  • Very high attention to detail.
  • Be a self-motivator and motivator of others.
  • Ability to work together with other colleagues and maintain professional working relationships. Any relationships that could potentially pose a conflict of interest should be disclosed to HR and may require a written disclosure.
  • Multi-lingual is a plus.
  • TIPS and ServSafe Certified.
