What are the responsibilities and job description for the Medication Assistant position at Amaran Senior Living?
Duties:
- Assist individuals with developmental disabilities in their daily activities and personal care
- Provide support and companionship to individuals in a compassionate and respectful manner
- Administer medications and assist with medical procedures as needed
- Monitor and record vital signs, such as blood pressure and heart rate
- Assist with catheter care, tube feeding, and other specialized care needs
- Help individuals with mobility and transfers, ensuring their safety at all times
- Maintain a clean and organized living environment for individuals in assisted living or home care settings
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals to ensure the well-being of individuals under your care
Experience:
- Previous experience working with people with developmental disabilities is preferred
- Knowledge of physiology and medical terminology is a plus
- Familiarity with electronic medical record systems such as Cerner or Epic is beneficial
- Experience in providing catheter care, tube feeding, and other specialized care procedures is desirable
- Understanding of senior care principles and practices is an asset
