Job Summary
Amarillo Children's Home (ACH) seeks a Part-Time Assistant Child Caregiver - PRN position to supervise at-risk children who live at ACH. Experience working with children and teenagers is preferred. The Assistant PRN will supervise groups of 6-8 children and teens, ensuring their safety and guiding them through their daily routines. Normally will work during daytimes and evenings, including weekends. Duties include transporting youth to/from school, ensuring children's safety, assisting with homework, meal preparation, taking to medical appointments, jobs and church. Schedule varies. Typically will work afternoons & evenings and possibly overnights; must be available to work on weekends. This position is on an "as needed" basis, and no minimum hours are guaranteed. May work as few as 10 and up to 40 hours per week, based on your availability and our need for staff. The flexible schedule is an excellent fit for college students or people seeking to supplement their income with a second job!

Responsibilities and Duties
- Supervise a group of 6-8 children/teens and be fully responsible for their well-being and safety.
- Transport kids to school & appointments driving a 12-15 passenger van.
- Prepare meals following a written menu.
- Provide guidance & feedback for children following the Children's Home program guidelines
- Administer medication as prescribed, in accordance with policies and procedures
- Training provided for all duties.
Qualifications and Skills
- Must enjoy working with children. Past experience with children is preferred.
- High School diploma/GED required.
- Must be 21 yrs of age or older, per state regulations.
- Must have a valid driver's license and a good driving record.
- Must have no disqualifying criminal history. A thorough background check including fingerprints will be performed for all applicants.
- Must pass a drug screen and be free of tuberculosis.
- Must be fluent in English.
