Role Description
This is a full-time on-site role for a Banquet Captain at Amarillo Country Club. The Banquet Captain will be responsible for supervising events, coordinating food service operations, delivering exceptional customer service, and ensuring effective communication within the food & beverage team.
Position Summary:
Able to understand and execute BEO's. Prepares party specifications and executes events, serves food and beverages in an efficient, professional manner by performing the following duties. Responsible for all day-to-day event services. Supervises service delivery and assists to ensure service levels are maintained. Works with banquet and other departments to assure that the banquet and event expectations are exceeded, and the highest quality food and service are delivered.
Job Summary
In charge of the banquet service function in the club. Supervise banquet service personnel to assure member and guest satisfaction through proper food and beverage service and presentation. Maximize the club’s profitability from the catering function.
Job Tasks (Duties):
- Executing all hosted events
- Works with the Catering Director, Executive Chef and others to schedule/coordinate personnel requirements for private functions
- Under general supervision, coordinates and supervises catered events based on client specifications and documented in the Banquet Event Order
- Supervises and directs banquet staff during all phases of event
- Effectively and regularly communicates expectations and service goals to staff
- Holds pre-function meeting with servers/bartenders to ensure smooth, efficient service; assigns server stations and coordinates the timing of courses
- Ensures that all banquet staff are well-groomed and in proper uniform (including name tags)
- Assures proper inventory of all banquet service equipment and supplies to meet required needs
- Acts as Head Server at special, private functions and may greet and seat guests as necessary
- Handles member and guest complaints
- Supervises banquet staff
- Regularly inspects all front- and back-of-the-house service areas and equipment to assure that sanitation, safety, energy management, preventive maintenance and other standards for the department are met
- Assures that all functions are properly staffed in accordance with the approved banquet staffing schedule
- Assures the neatness, cleanliness and safety of all banquet areas
- Assumes Closing Manager and/or Manager on Duty (MOD) responsibilities when assigned

Personal Skills:
· Must have F&B experience such as serving/bartending
· Effective communication through all department levels
· Knowledge of and ability to perform required role during emergency situations
· Polished, professional appearance and presentation
· Manage stress and time.
Education and/or Experience:
· Food safety certification.
· Alcoholic beverage certification
